What gametrans keeps about you, why, and who else sees it. In short: your Google name, email address and picture, the translations you make and share, and what you write here. No ads, no tracking, nothing sold.

Without an account

You can browse the catalogue and use the translator without signing in. The translator reads your game on your computer; the game is never uploaded. To find a game in the library it sends fingerprints of some of its lines (hashes — not the text). Like every website, our server records the requests it answers, with your IP address, for up to 14 days, to keep the service running and stop abuse.

When you sign in

  • From Google: your name, email address and profile picture. Nothing else, and never access to your Google account.
  • Your sessions: a cookie that keeps you signed in, and for each session the IP address and browser it started from, so you can sign out everywhere and we can spot misuse.
  • Your translations: as you translate, the translator saves your table — the game's lines and your translations, the folder's name, fingerprints of the game's files — to your account, so your work is safe and comes back on another computer. You can turn this off in the translator's Settings.
  • Credits: your balance, every change to it, and each live translation run (which model, how much text, what it cost).
  • What you write: stars, comments and suggested lines. These are public, with your name and picture beside them.

Who else sees it

  • Other players see your name, picture, stars and comments — and, once the library team publishes a translation you shared, that translation.
  • The library team (our admins) can see your account, your translations and your credits, to review what is shared and to help you. What they do is recorded in an audit log.
  • Live translation sends the lines being translated to OpenRouter and the AI model provider it routes to. Only the game's text goes — never your name or email.
  • Services we run on: our hosting provider stores the data, and Google signs you in. We do not sell or share your data with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Your account and what belongs to it, for as long as the account exists. Server request logs, up to 14 days. Database backups, up to 14 days after a deletion.

Your choices

  • See your account, credits, translations and reviews on your account page, and sign out of every device there.
  • Edit or delete your comments and stars.
  • To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it, write to fah330518@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days. A translation already published in the library may stay published, without your name.

Cookies

One cookie, to keep you signed in. The translator also keeps its settings in your browser, and writes its work files into the game folder you open (.gametrans/). No advertising or analytics cookies.
